Spiritual warfare

Weather you know it or not, you are more spirit than you are physical. The top scientists of the world are in an endless pursuit to better understand Consciousness. If you don't believe me, ask Google and Microsoft. These two, along with who knows who else, are researching it under the alias called Project Immortality.

So ask yourself; Why are the richest and most influential of man exploring the thing that we most struggle to really identify? Well, most people have little or no awareness of the spirit realm. And yes, if I believe that your spirit man is more than your physical man (matter), then surely the realms they operate in should coincide with my beliefs and have respective expanse.

And that's it right there. Without having to bore you with much proofs, I'll share with you the basis for my statements. The Word. And yes, I can only build from the foundation of Truth.

Even if you disagree with me, the truth is that your disagreements stems from a place. That "place" cannot be seen. At least not by us. That place is reserved for you and God. But then, everything our senses connect with has influence on our senses. When you're hungry, you get grumpy. When you eat, you are happy. When you see someone you haven't seen in a while, your heart skips a beat. When the guy driving in front of you fails to use his indicators and just turns, you get distressed. And rightfully so, scientists will point us to the chemical release, balance and imbalance within our brains. These would be seen as the reason behind what we feel and determine how and when we do what we do.

But then we have people who died (medically and clinically) and came back to life with amazing testimonials. They met loved ones who passed on, they witnessed their bodies on the operating table and many other things.

Eben Alexander, a Harvard Neurosurgeon, wrote a book on just that. Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon's Journey into the Afterlife.

My point is; life is not just what we perceive with our senses. It's so much more than what we see, hear and touch. The bible talks about our enemy, Satan, walking around like a roaring lion, seeking those he can devour. It also says in Ephesians 6 verse 12 that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Have you ever seen the devil? Have you ever seen how he devoured someone? Was it not a spiritual attack? I can confirm that I have seen the destruction caused by spiritual warfare in my own life. Those thoughts and urges that came from "somewhere" unknown and drove me to death's doorstep.

Thankfully God, who is Spirit (John4:24), saved me. And He saved me with the Word... that is Spirit (John6:63). Hence Jesus is the Word that became flesh (John1:14).

Spiritual warfare is everyone's war, but not everybody's fight. Some believe that men oppose them while others are aware that it is the spirit that dwell in man, that war against God.

To us who believe in the resurrected Christ, this applies: Satan was defeated at Calvary. Him along with sin and death. There is a war that rages on earth, and it is for the hearts and minds of men. Wanting only to deceive us into thinking that death is our end.

Your consciousness is called soul. Created by God, for God and designed to live forever. Where we spend our forever, will be determined by who we believe. The Word or the world. You choose.
